Choosing a Life Coach: Research Tips for Selecting a Coaching Program

Life coaching programs are products, and as with all products in the marketplace, it is necessary to do extensive research to get the best fit and value for the dollar spent. While finding the right life coach does take time and effort, the preliminary work sets the stage for a positive life coaching experience.

Calculate a Life Coaching Budget

Determining the amount of available funds to spend on a life coaching program is vital. Life coaches are business owners, and in order to compete for clients effectively, they often engage in aggressive marketing campaigns.

Without knowing how many dollars are available to spend, it’s easy to get lured into overspending by an attractive ad. Draw up a budget to get a clear picture of exactly how many dollars are available to spend for coaching on a weekly, monthly, or one-time basis.

If a budget evaluation shows that there are no funds to hire a coach, skip to the section of this article titled, “Shop for a Life Coach,” to learn about the abundance of free life coaching resources available.

Define Life Coaching Expectations

Prior to shopping for a life coach, it is important to know what is desired from the coaching experience. Make a list of areas or circumstances where improvement is desired such as life balance, body image, relationships, or finances.

Maintaining a clear picture of personal expectations aids in the life coach selection process and enhances the overall coaching experience.

Know the Life Coaching Program Delivery Options

From private face-to-face coaching sessions to videos and DVDs, life coaches employ a wide range of methods to serve their clients. One popular method of life coaching is the group teleseminar or webinar, where several clients meet with the coach at one time via a conference call or web meeting

are also private membership sites available where clients can watch coaching DVDs and interact with other members. While a prospective client’s budget will sometimes limit the frequency or the type of coaching sessions available to them, it is still beneficial to know what the options are before setting out into the marketplace.

Getting a Life Coach – How to Shop for a Life Coach

Once the life coaching budget has been determined, coaching expectations have been defined, and methods of delivery are understood, it is time to actively shop for a life coach. Cast a wide net by employing multiple search methods. Life coaching has become commonplace, so ask trusted friends and coworkers for personal or word-of-mouth recommendations. Use search engines to explore life coaching websites and blogs and to watch life coaching videos on YouTube and other video sites.

Many life coaches offer previews of their services via free ebooks, teleclasses, and webinars, so sign up for these offers. These free coaching resources offer an opportunity to get familiar with the coach and participate in simple coaching exercises, such as the life balance wheel or visualizations. Some life coaches even offer a short coaching call at no charge. Take advantage of as many of these free resources as time allows to get a good feel for what is available.

Choose the Right Life Coach

If there is no clear front runner after the research process, narrow the field to no more than three life coaches for final research. Examine the the small print of each coaching program in terms of content, price, and guarantees, taking time to email or call the respective life coach with any remaining questions. When all the research has been completed and all questions have been answered, the decision to purchase a life coaching program can be made with confidence.

Being a wise consumer in the life coaching marketplace does take time, but the time spent in preliminary research is a shrewd investment. By making the effort beforehand to set up a life coaching budget, define coaching expectations, and understand delivery options the coaching client is free to enjoy the chosen program with a clear mind.

What is a Medical Spa? A Comprehensive Guide

When you hear the term “spa,” you might think of a place to get a relaxing massage or a facial. However, a medical spa, also known as a med spa, is a bit different. Medical spas offer a range of treatments and services that are designed to improve your overall health and wellness, as well as your appearance. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at what a medical spa is, what sets it apart from a regular spa, and the benefits of visiting one.

What sets a medical spa apart from a regular spa?

A medical spa is a hybrid between a medical clinic and a day spa. Unlike a traditional spa, a medical spa is staffed by licensed healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses. This means that medical spas can offer a wider range of treatments than regular spas, including medical-grade facials, injectables, laser treatments, and more.

Benefits of visiting a medical spa

There are many benefits to visiting a medical spa, including:

  • Improved health and well-being: Medical spas offer treatments that can improve your physical and mental health, such as massage therapy, acupuncture, and meditation.
  • Anti-aging benefits: Medical spas offer a range of treatments that can help reduce the signs of aging, such as wrinkles and fine lines.
  • Reduced stress and anxiety: Many of the treatments offered at medical spas are designed to help you relax and reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Enhanced appearance: Medical spas offer a range of treatments that can help improve your appearance, such as skin rejuvenation, body contouring, and hair removal.
  • Improved self-esteem and confidence: When you look and feel your best, you’re likely to feel more confident and have higher self-esteem.

Types of treatments offered at medical spas

Medical spas offer a wide range of treatments and services, including:

  • Skin care treatments: Medical spas offer a range of skin care treatments, such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and facials.
  • Body treatments: Medical spas offer a range of body treatments, such as body wraps, massage therapy, and acupuncture.
  • Facial treatments: Medical spas offer a range of facial treatments, such as Botox injections, dermal fillers, and laser skin resurfacing.
  • Laser treatments: Medical spas offer a range of laser treatments, such as laser hair removal, laser skin resurfacing, and laser tattoo removal.
  • Injectable treatments: Medical spas offer a range of injectable treatments, such as Botox, dermal fillers, and Kybella.
  • Wellness treatments: Medical spas offer a range of wellness treatments, such as acupuncture, meditation, and nutrition counseling.

Safety measures at medical spas

Because medical spas offer treatments that are more invasive than those offered at regular spas, it’s important that they adhere to strict safety protocols. Here are some safety measures that you should look for when choosing a medical spa:

  • Licensing and certification requirements: Make sure that the medical spa is licensed and that the staff are certified and trained in the treatments that they offer.
  • Proper sanitation and sterilization: The medical spa should follow strict guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting their equipment and treatment rooms.
  • Use of trained medical professionals: Medical spas should have licensed healthcare professionals on staff, such as physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses.
  • Adherence to safety protocols: The medical spa should have clear safety protocols in place for all treatments, and staff should be trained in how to respond to emergencies.

How to choose the right medical spa for you

Choosing the right medical spa can be a daunting task, but there are several things that you can do to ensure that you find the right one:

  • Researching options: Look online for medical spas in your area and read reviews to get an idea of their reputation.
  • Checking credentials and certifications: Make sure that the medical spa is licensed and that the staff are certified and trained in the treatments that they offer.
  • Reading reviews: Look for reviews from other customers to get an idea of their experience at the medical spa.
  • Considering location and convenience: Choose a medical spa that is convenient for you to get to and has hours that work for your schedule.
  • Consultations and personalized treatment plans: Look for a medical spa that offers consultations and personalized treatment plans to ensure that you get the best possible results from your treatments.

Medical spa etiquette

When you visit a medical spa, there are certain etiquette rules that you should follow:

  • Dress code and attire: Check with the medical spa to see what their dress code and attire requirements are.
  • Arrival time and check-in process: Arrive early for your appointment and be prepared to fill out any necessary paperwork.
  • Payment and gratuity: Find out what payment methods the medical spa accepts and whether gratuity is expected.
  • Communication with staff and practitioners: Be sure to communicate any concerns or questions that you have with the staff or practitioner.
  • Follow-up and aftercare: Follow any instructions that the staff or practitioner gives you for aftercare and follow-up appointments.

Conclusion

Medical spas offer a wide range of treatments and services that can help improve your overall health and wellness, as well as your appearance. If you’re considering visiting a medical spa, be sure to do your research and choose a reputable one that adheres to strict safety protocols. By following the etiquette rules and communicating with the staff and practitioner, you can ensure that you get the best possible experience and results from your treatments. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing massage, a rejuvenating facial, or a more intensive medical procedure, a medical spa can provide you with the treatments and care that you need to feel and look your best.

Pemmican Recipes: Traditional and Modern Variations

Pemmican, a traditional Native American food, has been used as a survival food for centuries. It is a high-energy food made from dried meat, fat, and sometimes berries. Originally, pemmican was made by Native Americans and later adopted by fur traders and explorers as a portable and long-lasting source of nourishment. Today, pemmican has become popular among outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and backpackers due to its energy-dense and easy-to-carry properties.

Origins of Pemmican

Pemmican has its origins in the indigenous peoples of North America, who created it as a way to preserve meat for long periods of time. The word “pemmican” comes from “pimikan,” a Cree word that means “manufactured grease.” Pemmican was an essential food for Native Americans, who relied on it during the long winter months when fresh food was scarce. The traditional method of making pemmican involved drying meat, usually bison or elk, and pounding it into a powder. This powder was then mixed with melted fat and sometimes berries, which added flavor and nutrition.

Traditional Pemmican

The traditional recipe for pemmican involves drying meat, usually bison, deer, or elk, and pounding it into a powder. The meat powder is then mixed with melted fat, usually from the same animal, and sometimes berries. The mixture is then formed into small, compact cakes or balls, which can be stored for long periods of time. Traditional pemmican is high in fat and protein and is an excellent source of energy for outdoor activities. It can be eaten alone or mixed with other foods.

Modern Variations of Pemmican

In recent years, pemmican has become popular among outdoor enthusiasts, hikers, and backpackers, who have created modern variations of the traditional recipe. These variations include sweetened, spicy, vegetarian, and chocolate pemmican, among others. Modern pemmican recipes often include different types of meat, such as beef, chicken, or turkey, and a variety of nuts and seeds for added nutrition.

Sweetened Pemmican

Sweetened pemmican is made by adding honey, maple syrup, or other sweeteners to the traditional recipe. This creates a sweeter, more flavorful pemmican that is perfect for those with a sweet tooth.

Spicy Pemmican

Spicy pemmican is made by adding spices, such as chili powder, cumin, or paprika, to the traditional recipe. This creates a spicier, more flavorful pemmican that is perfect for those who like a little heat.

Vegetarian Pemmican

Vegetarian pemmican is made by replacing the meat with nuts and seeds, such as almonds, sunflower seeds, and chia seeds. This creates a vegetarian-friendly pemmican that is still high in protein and energy.

Chocolate Pemmican

Chocolate pemmican is made by adding cocoa powder and honey to the traditional recipe. This creates a chocolate-flavored pemmican that is perfect for those who love chocolate.

Fruity Pemmican

Fruity pemmican is made by adding dried berries, such as cranberries or blueberries, to the traditional recipe. This creates a fruity, flavorful pemmican that is perfect for those who like a little sweetness.

Pemmican Energy Bars

Pemmican energy bars are a modern variation of pemmican that are perfect for on-the-go snacking. They are made by mixing pemmican with nuts, seeds, and other ingredients, such as oats and chocolate chips, and forming them into bars.

Pemmican Trail Mix

Pemmican trail mix is another modern variation of pemmican that is perfect for hiking and outdoor activities. It is made by mixing pemmican with nuts, seeds, and dried fruits, such as raisins and apricots, and storing it in a portable container.

Pemmican, the ultimate survival food===
Whether you’re hiking, backpacking, or just need a high-energy snack, pemmican is the ultimate survival food. Its long shelf life, energy-dense properties, and portability make it a popular choice among outdoor enthusiasts. With traditional and modern variations to choose from, there’s a pemmican recipe for everyone. So next time you’re heading out on an adventure, don’t forget to pack some pemmican!

Home Remodeling Usual Problems to Stay Away From

Home remodeling mistakes..

Home Remodeling In Phoenix is generally a worthwhile activity which will leave an individual with a room you’ve always dreamed of.

But nevertheless, just in case not taken care of competently, the situation could possibly end up a costly, unproductive nightmare.

Be sure the project doesn’t encounter this kind of fortune by stopping any of these eight common home remodeling mistakes.

1. Having only a imprecise plan

If you might be making a DIY restoration or just having a qualified contractor, every upgrade really needs have got a clean and precise plan.

If you ever have only a vague concept of what you would like, it’s likely you’ll spend time, supplies, and may also ignore the actual price of the job.

2. Not making use of foresight

Likely together with advice number one, if you find yourself designing the remodel, get in the habit of contemplating some actions in advance.

For instance, knowing you will have to rip out a wall, always make sure there is nothing you have to do associated with the wall before you can close it up (rewiring, adding insulation, etc.).

3. Dismissing safety measures

Advices like for example use a mask, shut off the electrical power, as well as slip on eye protection, are not made to get dismissed.

Many coaching pamphlets and even how-to books inform you involving safety rules, but once you happen to be executing the job without any instructions, always employ good judgment. As the saying goes, “it’s better to be safe than sorry.”

4. Thinking only dealing with look

In a haste to try and do ones own home remodeling, Phoenix property owners is likely to make the error with attending entirely at the superficial looks but not on structural reliability. This manner of planning will begin to lead to fixes.

Resurfaced cabinets will never look beautiful for very long if there is rotted or perhaps sagging wood below. Likewise, an irregular floor definitely will bring about shattered as well as abused tiles.

5. Going with the initial offer

In case you are hiring out the task, it is important to get various quotes. Furthermore, be sure with what you would like, which enables you to analyze every single estimate perfectly.

For instance, in the event you simply just point out you want a Kitchen Remodeling Phoenix, you could get three drastically different quotes (we all have another interpretation of what that involves). In its place, mention exactly the design of flooring, cabinets, counter tops, lighting, equipment, etc. you desire.

6. Overestimating your skills

There is also a some level of contentment that is included with accomplishing a DIY task. Unfortunately, if you end up dealing with extravagant Basement Remodeling in Phoenix, often it makes more sense to leave it to the experts. What you think can help you save some money, quite often results in doing way more than expected and charging more than solely contracting qualified home builders.

Phoenix residents whom make an effort to carry out way too much frequently end up having faults not to mention doing loads of overpriced trips into the hardware store.

7. Ruining the cost

A professional-grade kitchen will doubtless produce loads of “ooohs” and “ahhhs,” although do you find it really essential?

Along with a little creativity, you’ll be able to style an attractive, reasonably priced area, and also save yourself the worries connected with checking up on neighbors.

8. Not choosing the right all around contractor

There is always a whole lot more to deciding upon contractors than simply going through the expense of their Bathroom Remodeling. Builders are plentiful, even though not all deliver excellent work and guarantees on their job.

Not to mention trying to find someone skilled, you must feel relaxed employing the individual.

How To Select A Handyman Service

All handymen and handyman services are not the same…

Handyman or handyman service is a very general name thrown around, so we will be exploring the different varieties including the pros and cons and some per hour price ranges for each type. What type of handyman or handyman service you decide to look for will depend on what you’re looking for in your handyman or handyman service, particularly the scope or type of work you need done, your budget and the quality you will be expecting.

What level of handyman do you need?

If you need the most basic installation or repair tasks done, then the most basic and least experienced level of handyman should do. Typically this level of handyman can do things like hang pictures, repair drywall, paint, change plumbing and electrical fixtures, make general adjustments to a number of misc. items throughout your house. This basic level of handyman will often have less than five years experience, limited training by serious professionals and a set of tools that look similar or slightly more varied than what you would picture a handy home owner or hobbiest having in their garage. If the handyman has a very limited number of tools or is always running to buy them as he/she goes you should be concerned. If the handyman is making a lot of trips to the store, it implies a lack of experience as better handymen are stickler about getting everything in one trip and will be put out with themselves when the 2nd trip is required.

You should find out years experience, where they were trained or by whom, look at their vehicle and tools, check their website and references with a strong recommendation from someone you know well being ideal. Ask them if the job gets more involved than it looks, you have a bigger job for them later or a permit becomes an issue what they’ll do about it then? Ask if they have insurance? If they don’t, you may still be able to get comfortable as long as the work is very basic, but remember, if they hit a water pipe or wire while hanging your picture, the clean-up and repair will likely be on you…

If your project or list of projects starts to involve electrical, plumbing or HVAC behind a wall, adding a new circuit / breaker, moving the entire fixture to a new location, these would require a higher level handyman or journeyman level mechanical contractor in that trade. Structural issues, moving or adjusting things that support weight or help hold your house up would generally require a higher level handyman at minimum and really a state licensed and insured contractor who does that regularly. Many projects that involve major structural, electric, plumbing or HVAC will often also require a permit, which rarely can be pulled by a handyman, but occasionally by a larger, higher level handyman service which are often state licensed contractors that offer handyman services themselves.

Prices in Atlanta, Ga where we live and work can be $10-30/hour for what I would call day labor or apprentice level, $10-20 for illegals and $20-30 for legals. Normally these men or women would be assisting another seasoned person with 10+ years on one of our teams. Be cautious, as this level of handyman requires much babysitting…but won’t like it, will often say they can do things they can’t…as they need the money too much, and is most dangerous, as they don’t really know what they don’t know.

A individual handyman or tradesman with 10+ years of generalist experience, trained to varying levels between mediocre and excellent in a long list of trades usually gets $25-50/hour here in the Atlanta Area. They will be driving a truck, van or SUV, have a large variety of hand and power tools, rarely renting any and an assortment of ladders and such. Be cautious to pay this price if they are younger than 25 (how much experience can they have) or older than 65 (you are paying by the hour). Most that I’ve found to be best are between 35 and 55, but that’s based on trying to maximize the amount of work you get for your money. The younger handymen will work harder and faster, while the older work smarter and have way more patience. I like an even mix of all the above 🙂

A handyman service in and around the Atlanta Area will usually run $50-75/hour. For that, you’ll get the better group of men or women from the experienced group above, usually 5+ years, often 10+ years experience as it takes a while to learn that broad a group of skills. You may or may not get the uniform and/or company logo on the vehicle. You will very likely get insurance, bonding as needed (which isn’t often needed for residential, mostly commercial jobs) and occasionally they will be a state licensed contractor or builder, which would mean they could pull permits, know more building code and you have way more recourse by complaining to the state licensing board. The company will have ladders and larger power tools to send out as needed.

Do check these handyman service companies’ web sites and/or call the receptionist to find out if the minimum years of experience they say on their web site or in their brochure is actually what they require when hiring. Most web sites for these handyman services have a link for job opportunities, and well…they often ask for way less years of experience on that page than they tout on their front page??? If it’s not on their site, call like your looking for a job and ask how much experience you will need? Being in the business and a digger dog, it always tears me up when I see this on a competitor’s web site and it’s so obvious 🙂

In conclusion, here is how I would make a decision if I needed to hire someone else to be my handyman:

Simple yard jobs, clean-up, painting where quality isn’t a big issue (i.e. laundry room, garage, etc.), picture hanging, etc. I would go with the lowest level of skill and price. Real handyman stuff needing done, particularly a diverse or longer list, anything where multiple tools/skills would be needed and I wanted it to be good or great as a finished product (i.e. safety issue or people will see it), I would go with an experience and insured handyman that cost a bit more or a lower cost local handyman service after meeting a few of each. If I had heavier mechanical work, structural items on the list, needed plans to be read, thought a permit could become required later or just felt like things could get complicated or go bad, I would hire a handyman service or a state licensed remodel contractor that was as affordable as possible and not take any chances.

As a last note and something to consider, lets say you hire a handyman service that has quite a bit to offer, but they are affordable, so let’s say $30-60/hour depending on the tasks and level of craftsman required. If their journeyman level electrical, plumbing and HVAC people can handle your issues for $40-60/hour, they will still only cost half of what a journeyman or master tech will cost out of the phone book or a directory. Same with structural issues, as most engineers and full scale contractors that specialize in that will cost double. Just make sure they’re insured and do those tasks regularly, if so, they’re probably a steal and let’s face it…no one wants a day laborer, apprentice, trainee or even uninsured handyman doing those things in their home!

Good handyman hunting!!!

Trying Acupuncture for the First Time

It is important to understand acupuncture and how it works before trying it, because the treatment a trained acupuncturist will administer is based upon the specific condition or ailment. The acupuncturist will do an extensive consultation to access the condition and how best to treat it, which gives a personalized treatment not often found in mainstream medicine.

The History of AcupunctureAcupuncture is part of Traditional Chinese Medicine, often abbreviated TCM, which includes many other treatments such as herbs and massage. TCM can be traced back 3,000 years or more in Chinese history. It is commonly believed that acupuncture came to the United States after a journalist, who was treated with acupuncture after an emergency apendectomy in China while traveling with Henry Kissinger in 1972, later wrote about the experience.

How Acupuncture Works and What it Treats

Acupuncture functions on the belief that energy flows through the body in channels called meridians, and that there are points along these meridians that can be stimulated with the gentle insertion of needles. By stimulating these points, it is thought that energy will move through the body causing natural healing. It aims to bring a balance to the body’s external and internal environment. Patients may feel relief as soon as after the first visit, or it may take several treatments, but the belief is that focusing on these specific meridians in the body will affect the body’s energy flow, bringing about a natural healing process.

The needles are solid, not hollow, and are generally painless. It is commonly reported to be a completely painless procedure that results in a relaxed, calm feeling. Acupuncture is recommended for myriad conditions causing pain or discomfort. Most places offer treatment for infertility and other women’s health issues, to help with weight loss and for treating pain associated with injuries or illnesses.

Other Types of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Herbs, another type of TCM, may also be used in conjunction with acupuncture treatment. Herbs differ from Western medicine in that they are prescribed based on an individual treatment plan and don’t contain any of the chemicals used in mainstream medicines. Herbs are prescribed to help treat the whole body by restoring energy for maximum healing.

Massage is also commonly used as part of TCM treatment as it relaxes the body and can help stimulate circulation and boost immunity, among other benefits.

Those who struggle with chronic illness, difficulty conceiving or other issues, may be frustrated with Western medicine or feeling hopeless as to what to do. Acupuncture is an extremely viable option, and is now accepted by many health insurance policies. In many cases the length of treatment is relatively short, starting with frequent visits and tapering off to every once in awhile for maintenance of the condition’s treatment.

Facial Acupuncture: A Non-Surgical Beauty Treatment that Holds Back the Years

Facial acupuncture is fast gaining cult status in the West as an effective way to treat fine lines, deep wrinkles and tired skin – naturally. It involves using fine needles on acupuncture points on the face to stimulate the body’s ‘qi’ (the Chinese word for energy flow) and work on any blocks, and the result is firmer, smoother, younger-looking skin. It increases blood and lymph circulation and stimulates cells to create more collagen, which helps improve the condition of the skin. The face is a good area to work on as it contains many acupuncture points.

A study of 300 people treated with cosmetic acupuncture in 1996 found that over 90% showed an improvement in skin tone after just one series of treatments. Skin gained elasticity and became ruddier and wrinkles were reduced.

What happens during a session?

A typical session lasts around 45 minutes. ‘I start with a tongue analysis,’ says Anita Vukomancic, holistic cosmetologist and founder of London’s Inhale Clinic. ‘This is followed by a discussion of a client’s nutritional and lifestyle habits.’ The client lies down and specific facial points are stimulated with fine needles – a procedure that is virtually painless and surprisingly relaxing. Needles can also be applied to other parts of the body to allow the energy to circulate. The client is then left alone for a while to relax so that the needles can work their magic. You can’t feel the needles in your skin and it’s normal to feel sleepy during a consultation. Afterwards you will feel relaxed and alert.

Effects

You can see the results after a few sessions, says health journalist, author and broadcaster Susan Clark. There’s a reduction in fine lines, blemishes and wrinkles and it helps to reduce bags under the eyes. Skin is more hydrated, with tighter pores and better muscle tone.

How often do you need it?

A course is usually 12 sessions, with practitioners advising a minimum of six to see the benefits. Once you’ve had a few sessions or a course it helps to have a “top up” once in a while to maintain the results. Anita Vukomancic recommends monthly visits to ensure that your skin receives a regular supply of nutrients and oxygen. It’s not a cheap beauty fix but it is a long-term investment in your skin, health and wellbeing and is more economical than surgery.
